I got this bumper car for my 18 months old daughter because she loves cars. First, assembly was unbelievably easy! I only had to plug in two wires and it completed the “assembly” lol. I charged the battery once when I first received it and it’s been over a week now and the battery is still going strong, for the fact that she plays with it every single day. There are two modes to drive the car: self control and remote control. I usually let her maneuver the car when she’s inside the house and I take the remote control with me when she goes outside, and the remote control is self explanatory and easy to use. This bumper car is slow enough for safety but fast enough for fun. So far my daughter’s got a lot of compliments from our neighbors and this little girl is so proud of it! AND!!! mommy can finally sit down and relax while she enjoys herself with it. It’s a good gift idea for the wild kiddos lol.We ordered this for our toddler who is almost 2 years of age. He really enjoy turning it on and off and riding it around our home. It comes with some car sounds but also includes a few tracks of upbeat pop music. The remote control works well, although it takes some getting used to. It's not overly heavy, but doesn't stand much of a chance of flipping over (unless you are on a hill). The bottom section doesn't really allow for anything to get caught underneath, so we don't have to worry about child getting injured from the movement. We are pretty happy with this car and have peace of mind in regards to safety.We mostly use it on hardwood floor and it rides very well. The lights and sounds are fun, yet not overwhelmingly loud. It is not a car to have forever, but it is perfect for this age.
